In 2001 I had the honor to paint with Founder, President Emeritus and chairperson of the Pastel Society of America – Flora Giffuni. Through the years she has supported my wish to be a professional pastel artist.

My joy is to enhance my ideas and then with all my heart to give myself to it. Color, composition and passages of light are orchestrated to produce a cohesive whole.

My judgment was based on the same aesthetic criteria I employ when mounting a multi artist exhibition at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art - choosing the most exceptional available paintings with the intention of creating a show that includes a diversity of subjects and styles. Having said this, viewers may notice that over one half of this show consists of landscape paintings; this is because the popular genre dominated the entries. In the same manner, realism/naturalism far outweighed abstraction as a favored style. Due to the excellence and individuality of the submissions, However, I believe this will be an outstanding exhibition that will appeal to the widest possible audience."
